All software pieces and some of the movies are opened up in a separate window or Pop-up window. So if a pop-up blocker is running, this will prevent the new window from opening. The two most common pop-up blockers are from Google and Yahoo. Yahoo also changes its cursor into a little red letter 'Y'. Some pop-up blockers also play a funny sound.   Some pop-up blockers include a clever facility where you can specify to allow pop-ups on certain sites.
